Nelson Kitiyo, the Chairperson of Kween LC1, claims that the bridge was damaged by Sino trucks and graders used by the contractors to transport marram from Kween cell to the Teryet High Altitude road construction site. According to Kitiyo, after the completion of the construction project, the Chinese company, China Civil Construction Company Limited, withdrew its machinery but left the bridge in a poor state.
