Over 500 motorcycle (boda boda) cyclists have besieged the Mityana district headquarters at Kannamba in Mityana town council, protesting against the planned registration exercise of all motorcycles in the district.
Uganda Media Centre Executive Director Ofwono Opondo has released a statement on the death of former South African President Nelson Mandela. Mandela died on December 5 at 9pm, South African time. He was at home with his family. He was 95 years old.
Dr. Kasiima announced the operation while meeting drivers and passengerâ€™s leaders in Mayors Gardens in Masaka on Thursday. Kasiima says in this operation, carrying sacks of grasshoppers in taxis, loading excess passengers, over speeding will all be punished. Cars and taxis in dangerous mechanical conditions have been banned.

British Premier David Cameron called Mandela a towering figure, a legend, a true global hero and a great light. French president FranÃ§ois Hollande said Mandela was a tireless fighter against apartheid which he defeated with courage, obstinacy and perseverance.
Police in northern Uganda has urged developers and vendors to include emergency evacuation exits in markets they set up. The call follows the Wednesday morning fire that razed the Nakivubo Park Yard market destroying merchandise belonging to at least 30, 000 vendors.
In a letter dated 2nd December 2013, Bisimwa names the three leaders as Sendugu Museveni, the M23 head of political affairs, Kambasu Ngeve Jean Serge, the permanent secretary of the political executive and Mashagiro Nzeyi Jerome who has been in charge of finance and logistics. Bisimwa says the changes take immediate effect.
A day after fire razed down Park Yard market in Kampala, pockets of smoke were visible as well as a thick choking smell of burnt clothes. Visible too, are vendors heckling, requesting for any contribution from passersby as well as lamenting their ordeal.
Former South African President Nelson Mandela Nelson Mandela has died at the age of 95. Announcing the news on South African national TV, President Jacob Zuma said the nation had lost its greatest son but added that Mandela was at peace.
