The outbreak of the two diseases has been confirmed by both District Veterinary Officers and the commissioner of Animal Husbandry in the Ministry of Agriculture Dr Anna Rose Ademun for Isingiro district.

In the aftermath, the government announced a total ban on the movement of livestock to curtail its spread.
