The landslide affected 139 households with a population of 695 people. Of these, 278 are children under 5 years. The most hit villages are; Lwanda, Malandu, Namalira, Nyekhe, and Shitikho.
The grant will go towards the development of new bankable climate change adaptation and mitigation projects in view of achieving the national Climate change goals identified under the Nationally Determine Contributions NDCs.
According to Martin Owor, the Commissioner for Disaster Management in the Office of the Prime Minister, a river burst its banks in Bududa following a heavy rainfall and a landslide up the mountain.
