Defence lawyers led by Ernest Kalibbala questioned the credibility of the footage on account that it had been edited to 7 minutes and 42 seconds from a record of 1 hour and 20minutes.
The story, published on January 17, indicated that Matojo was involved in the theft of cows from the Late Minister Eriya Kategayas farm in Buyaga village-Mpumudde Sub-county. Over 200 cows had disappeared from the farm since Kategayas death in March 2013. Kategaya was Ugandas First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs at the time of his death.
The first state witness Brain Mark Omito, a Police Officer attached to the evidence gathering unit presented before court a video footage showing Besigyes motorcade from Kalerwe to Mulago as proof that the crowd that followed him could jeopardize business in Kampala if he had not been stopped.
