At least 95 members of the U.S. Congress have signed a bipartisan letter to President Barack Obama, urging him to address the violence of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in Central Africa.
M23 rebels in Eastern DRC have threatened to recapture the North Kivu Provincial capital Goma accusing the Congolese government of failing to live up to its commitments. Bertrand Bisiimwa, the political head of the rebel group, accuses the Kinshasa government of deliberately refusing to honor the November 2012 declaration by the heads of State of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
