Geoffrey Oyoo, the Gulu City Senior Finance Officer told URN in an interview that the valuation is aimed at recording all old and new properties in Gulu City to be taxed for next five years.
The Ministry has a total of 5000 nets to be distributed in
the different markets in Kampala including Nakasero, Owino, Nakawa and Kalerwe
market among others.
A survey conducted by URN in markets in Lira City, the demand for fruits especially oranges and tamarin is on the rise. The price of other commodities that include ginger, garlic, red pepper, and lemongrass has also increased.
“With the effective date named as 25th May, 2021 we embarked on our 43-month journey towards first oil. This schedule has been challenged several times before, but I’m glad to mention that with the schedule we have, there no point of turning back” said Kwizera
At Kalerwe, Nakasero and St. Balikuddembe markets, gazetted handwashing points have been installed at all main entrances. Some of the points were installed by leaders, Kampala Capital City Authority-KCCA and non-government organizations.
