Geoffrey Macho says that he has registered several complaints with evidence raised to him by fishmongers on the poor service delivery by the MAIF officer at Busia border, and he has in turn written letters to URA, MAAIF and FPU.
Francis Mwijukye, the M.P Buhwenju County says that they were surprised that the country is getting enough fuel but there's still a crisis. They want to investigate companies that supply fuel in the country to ascertain whether they hold fuel with the intention of hiking prices to make abnormal profit fromthe country.
Yusuf Mudopa, a truck driver, says that they are surprised that they have to clear the same goods at Busia and Mpondwe border points. He said that they are not ready to proceed until the relevant authorities clarify the matter.
The fishmongers are also protesting the decision by Ugandan government authorities to impound goods in transit. They want relevant Uganda and Kenyan authorities to address the challenges they are facing to facilitate smooth trade between the two countries.
