Besigye Granted Bail kasangati court 2

Prosecution led by Joseph Kyomuhendo told court that on Tuesday last week, Besigye willfully disobeyed Senior Superintendent of Police, Daniel Bamugulire who was tasked to escort him when he directed him off Mulago Roundabout to follow Yusuf Lule road with his convoy on his way to the FDC party headquarters in Kasangati.

Besigye Vows Not to Surrender Victory defiance campaign

The former FDC presidential candidate was the first runner up in the polls when he garnered 35.4 percent against Musevenis 60.8 percent. However, Besigye wonders why he was incarcerated in his home for over a month if Museveni won the polls genuinely. According to Besigye, Ugandans spoke in the polls, but it is police, Electoral Commission and the army to blame for the pillage and rape of democracy.

Provisional: New Faces In Wakiso District elections 2016

The results are trickling in after several polling stations in the district started voting late. In places voting even started at 3:00 pm, like in Ssisa Sub-county. The Returning Officer, Sarah Bukira, has been announcing the provisional results as they come.
