Walukagga who contested on a NUP ticket polled 17133 votes followed by Geoffrey Ssebagala of the NRM party with 5,882 votes, Adrian Sseryazi an independent scored 1,371 votes in the third place while Democratic party –DP David Muweera got 1245 votes in the fourth position while FDC’s Sulaiman Ddumba Seriso polled 199 votes.
According to results declared by Nathan Nabaasa, the Luwero District Returning Officer, NRM retained only seven of the seats, while independent candidates took over three seats. Among the NUP winners is an upcoming artist John Buwembo, who won the LCIII Chairperson's seat for Luwero Town Council after defeating incumbent Paul Mukungu Ssenyonga. Buwembo scored 4,609 votes whereas got 3,571 votes.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the closed-door meeting, Joel Ssenyonyi the National Unity Platform Spokesperson said that they told the EU team about the continued human rights abuses committed by security personnel on NUP supporters.
Out of the 19 sub-counties and town councils in Lamwo, NRM secured 15 sub-counties chairperson seats, with three independent victors while the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party secured only one slot.
NRM won the leadership in 12 out of the 20 positions that they contested for. Independent candidates won six slots while the Forum for Democratic Change won two seats; Western division and Namungodi Town Council
