Two men masquerading as journalists have been arrested at St. Marys College Aboke in Kole district where they were demanding for a bribe. The suspects are Elly Apenyo and Denis Ogwal, both residents of Lira town.
Robert Abak, the Lira Resident District Commissioner, says the two were apprehended on Wednesday evening after they tried to bribe an officer at Lira Central Police Station to release their vehicle that was impounded by police for alleged involvement in a robbery.
In a statement issued this afternoon, the Finance Ministry Spokesperson, Jim Mugunga, says the officials were picked up in a Police operation at the Ministry headquarters this morning in relation to an ongoing investigation.
