Naigaga sustained injuries on the head and neck and bled to death. Her lifeless body was retrieved by the neighbors who told URN that the couple was embroiled in endless fights and efforts to reconcile them didn’t produce results.
During the scuffle to rescue the victims, Kasolo shot dead Yosam Namwindo, one of the residents in the area. As a result, residents turned their wrath on the constable and lynched him to avenge Namwindo’s death.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says that the suspects were arrested from the various Divisions of Kampala where they were involved in pocketing and waylaying people who were returning home after the celebrations.
