UK Minister Summoned from Trip to Uganda, to be Sacked 1

A British government official who was due to address a press conference at Entebbe has been summoned back home with reports indicating that she may be sacked from cabinet. Priti Patel, the United Kingdoms Secretary for International Development, is accused of holding secret meetings with Israel government officials and breaching international protocol by visiting Golan Heights, a territory Israel captured from Syria in 1967.

In a survey of 488 licensed investments in Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso for the period 2011/12 to 2016/17, only 348 were found to be operational. The investments had value of USD 42 million, with a total of 18,271 jobs.

HIV Test and Treat Approach Cuts Mortality Risk by Two-Thirds- Study unaids report 2012

Over 12-months of follow-up, individuals who started antiretrovirals within 30 days of their diagnosis had a 63 percent reduction in their mortality risk compared to people who remained antiretroviral-naive. Delayed treatment initiation after 30 days of diagnosis also reduced mortality, but only by 26 percent.
