When the government announced the reopening of schools, the pre-reopening activities were to include an update of the SOPs by the ministry. Although inspection has kicked off, the said tools have not been developed, leaving school proprietors, teachers, and parents guessing.
Juliet Mary Tumuhairwe, the headteacher of Uganda School for the Deaf notes that wearing a facial mask is very challenging for her group of learners as they cannot fully understand or interpret what the teacher is communicating with them.
In a media statement, Ashiraf Zziwa, the acting Public Relations Officer, Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-UMSC, says the Mufti has appointed Sheikh Badru Uzairu Wassajja and Sheikh Edris Songolo to replace Sheikh Bagunduse and Sheikh Ashiraf Kugonza in acting capacity respectively.

The team of seven athletes comprises six active para-athletics athletes who include Fred Masisa, Wilfred Ocen, Al Bashir Bwaga, Alex Wilson Legu and Peace Oroma however there will also be one support player who runs with Fred Masisa to guide him. Masisa falls under classification TF/11-13 which is for athletes with visual impairment.
The atlas compiled with the assistance of the UNDP country office provides data on various disasters the country is facing indicating vulnerability of various communities and offering recommendations to enhance resilience of these communities.
