According to the Mubende district community development officer Maria Ndagire, they are facing a challenge of a place where they can detain the children below the age of 18 years and most of the time, they are put in custody with the old inmates which she says is not good.
Kirabo who was the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer polled 780 votes while her closest competitor, Independent Ivan Bwowe collected 85 votes only. Also in the race was Michael Katongole who garnered 78 votes then came Simon Sennyonga in the fourth position with 49 votes while Ziritwawula Abdel Kareem collected 09 votes.
The race attracted seven candidates. They include Agnes Kirabo of the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM, Kasumba Gyaviira of the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC and independents; Ivan Bwowe, Simon Sennyonga, Abdul Ziritwawula, Micheal Katongole and Alvin Sembatya.
Wycliffe Mpinga, a delegate from Makindye Sabagabo division in Wakiso district said they spent a lot of money to travel from their areas to Mubende district, arguing that paying them Shillings 530,000 is unfair.

Mubende Chief Administrative Officer, Lillian Nakamatte says much of the medicines and veterinary drugs disbursed by the government for Mubende and Kassanda districts have gone to waste because of lack of power to keep them under refrigeration.
