According to reports, on Tuesday night, a group of suspected warriors raided Lominit village stealing goats from various households, including that of the deceased. After the raid, Chule took it upon himself to track down the raiders in an attempt to recover his stolen animals. This pursuit led him into an ambush set by the warriors.
Abraham Nangiro, the Napak District Agricultural Officer, says that the communities should consider starting up kitchen gardens for vegetables to improve food security instead of sitting to wait for relief support.
However the district officials have advised the residents to make the best use of the available water sources such as boreholes to grow vegetables in order to rescue the hunger situation and avert malnutrition.

The incident is said to have occurred on July 30, 2023, at around 4:00 pm, while the parents were away for prayers. It is alleged that the suspect lured the girl to a house within the same locality and sexually abused her.
According to Longole, the police officers responded immediately and the suspect was nabbed from his hideout within the same village.
