Charles Wanyama Hasuben, the Buhehe Sub-county LC 3 chairperson, says that the suspect deployed himself in the Sub-county on October 10, 2021. He explains that upon arrival at Buhehe police station, the suspect claimed that the Busia District Police Commander had deployed him.
The suspect has been identified as Annet Zahra, a resident of Seme village in Buhehe sub-county. She is accused of kidnapping a 13 year old girl with intention to traffic the minor to an unknown destination in neighboring Kenya.
His wife, Betty Nabwire, says that Barasa has been suffering from tuberculosis-TB and swollen legs for the last 15 years. She says that Barasa has been complaining of excessive pain resulting from the illness.
Her arrest comes after the neighbors got concerned about her locking the minors in the house leaving them without food, and on Sunday reported the matter to the village chairman who intervened and broke the house door to release the children.

Malaba says that he carried the minors who were unconscious and took them to Busia central police station where police entered a case of child abuse vide SD REF 68/09/08/2021.
The mob raided the family of David Odoi, a resident of Liwira village in Sere Sub-county on Saturday last week accusing him of poisoning Dominic Owori, who is reportedly unconscious during a drinking spree.
Musa Nasihune, a resident of Buhuye village, says that has lost 8 cows that were stolen from his kraal within three weeks. “Thieves come at night when we are sleeping and place padlocks on our doors from outside. Even if you hear them taking cows, there is no way you can get out to rescue the animals,” said Nasihune.
Mathew Tusubira, The Busia Deputy Resident District Commissioner, says that the duo is accused of trafficking six- 6 Congolese nationals from Kenya through Busia to Rwanda. Tusubira says that Wetaka escaped arrest on June 25th 2021 at the Uganda and Rwanda border in Katuna while attempting to traffic the six Congolese nationals.
