Church leaders are asking Parliament not to rush into enacting the Marriage and Divorce Bill 2009 into law. The leaders, under Uganda Joint Christian Council, warn that enacting the law in its current form would grossly undermine the family institution in Uganda. The bill being considered by Parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee, is one of the few that the current parliament is determined to enact before end of its term in May.
