The petition which was presented by retired Supreme Court Judge George Kanyeihamba requests that a commission of inquiry be instituted as a matter of urgency to look into the causes of bad vices like corruption and unethical conduct by Judicial Officers.
Auditors had begun queries on a number of irregular cash withdrawals of above 10 billion shillings in the name of Bigirimana. There were queries on 823 million shillings advanced to staff. They also discovered the â€œKasiimo accountâ€ in Centenary Bank to which signatories, monies deposited and beneficiaries were all not known.
Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Amos Mugisa has been arrested. Mugisa was this afternoon forced out of his office at the Kingdom Headquarters at Mucwa by police detectives attached to Fort Portal Police Station. At the time of his arrest, Mugisa was chairing a cabinet meeting.
Part of Bugoma Forest Reserve in Hoima district, which was cleared by war veterans almost two years ago, is naturally re-generating. In mid 2011, veterans under the umbrella of Tulipona Veterans Association invaded the forestâ€™s compartment MU6 in Nyairongo village, Kabwoya Sub County and started distributing plots amongst themselves.
