80% Of Boreholes In Kitgum Town Council Contaminated - Official 2

At least 80 percent of boreholes serving communities in Kitgum Town Council have been contaminated by faecal material from nearby pit latrines, the district water officer has warned. Oryem Peter Okema says several boreholes and pit latrines sunk to serve displaced persons that took refuge in Kitgum Town Council during the Lord’s Resistance Army insurgency have not been decommissioned.

Kasese Floods; Man Dies after False communication about Wife

The investigation comes after a resident collapsed and died following a rumor that his wife had drowned in the flooding waters of River Kithakena. The deceased was identified as Lawrence Mulekya, 35, a resident of Maliba trading center in Maliba sub-county.
