Some of the victims suffered gunshot wounds, lost relatives and property during the insurgency that lasted a year between 1886 and 1987. About 2630 victims from the districts of Luuka, Jinja, Mayuge, Iganga, Kaliro and Namutumba in Busoga region have come together to demand that government compensates them.
The resolution, made in a recent meeting, is based on pointers in a 30-page document which among other issues details how the office of Secretary General in NRM has evolved over the years. The document will be presented to the National Conference in the next sitting scheduled for December 14th.
Kabakumba Matsiko, the Masindi district NRM chairperson describes Byabakama as a masquerader and a self-seeker who is not supposed to transact any business on behalf of NRM and urges party supporters to disregard his letter.
