IPUs Women in Parliament 2015: the Year in Review released this evening ahead of International Womens Day on 8 March, shows that for the second year in a row, the number of women Members of Parliament MPs across the world rose by a worryingly low 0.5 percentage point. Women now account for 22.6 per cent of the worlds MPs.

LRA Abductions Surge in Central African Republic joseph kony

The joint LRA Crisis Tracker report released by Invisible Children and The Resolve LRA Crisis Initiative, shows that the number of abductions registered in the eastern part of CAR in January and February 2016 doubles the total number of LRA civilian abductions registered in 2015. Up to 113 abductions were recorded in 2015.

Sekikubo, the National Resistance Movement part candidate, was declared winner of the hotly contested race after securing 9,272 votes against Nkalubos 8,074 votes. But Nkalubo says the declaration was illegal on ground that ballots from several polling stations were never tallied.
