Those suspended include Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruth Katusiime, the Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department boss. The identities of the other six officers are not yet revealed. The suspensions come just a day after Sam Kigula, the LC 5 Chairperson of Nakasongola District complained to General Kayihura that the officers overstepped their mandate by carrying out arrests beyond their areas of operations.
