Parliament will on Friday this week hold a special sitting in honour of Annie Logiel, the Moroto Woman MP who died in Denmark last week. The body arrives at Entebbe International Airport on Thursday, February 23rd at 4:15pm. On Friday, a requiem mass will be held at Christ the King Church in Kampala at 9:00am and there after the cortege will be received at parliament by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
A total of 1,385 out of the 104,243 registered candidates did not turn up for exams, a slight drop from the 1,421 absentees registered in 2015, according to figures released by Uganda National Examinations Board--UNEB.

Nakaseke town council in Nakaseke district has for six years operated without a physical plan making it difficult for the leadership to contain growth of unplanned physical structures. The town council was curved out of Nakaseke Sub County in 2010 to improve local service delivery. The town council has a population of 7,728 people according to the National Population and Housing Census, 2014.
The withheld exams are from 11 centers. The centers affected include Science Foundation with 27 candidates, 11 candidates from Alliance SS Ibanda, 10 from Ezra Memorial SS, five from Rubona SS and five from Iganga Parents SS, among others.
Up to 34 students were awarded Doctoral degrees-PhD. 10 PhD students graduated from College of Natural Sciences, 10 students from College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, six from College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology and eight students from the College of Education and External Studies.
A copy of the results availed by the Uganda National Examinations Board UNEB indicates that 39,797 candidates out of the 102,858 candidates who sat for the UACE in 2016, obtained three principle passes.
