Uganda Yet to Communicate to South Sudan on Eagle Air Crash

The Civil Aviation Authority CAA, which regulates the air industry in Uganda, says the Ugandan government has to write to its South Sudan counterpart to institute investigations into an Eagle Air crash in Yei on April 1. The Eagle Air aircraft, which was taking off from Yei aerodrome in South Sudans Central Equatoria State, burst its tyre and veered off the runway crashing in the bush. The passengers and crew escaped unhurt.

Police to Create Special Divisions in Refugee Settlements

Most of the refugee settlements in the country have more than 200,000 people. At least 2000 refugees cross into Uganda from South Sudan daily. Bidibidi settlement in Yumbe district is home to more than 690,000 South Sudanese, making the biggest refugee settlement in the world.

UPDF Passes out 32 Communications Specialists 2 1

The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces- UPDF 3rd infantry Division in Moroto has passed out a total of 32 graduates at the School of Communications and Information Technology. The graduates, including one female, were trained in skills for efficient communication while using very high frequency VHF, high frequency HF Radios and computers during tactical or normal operations.
