Joseph Lwoga, a resident of Kalengera village says that his land and crop garden were jointly valued at less than 500,000 Shillings, which he says is too little even to cover the cost of production, let alone finding alternative land for relocation and crop production.
Stephen Turyahikayo, a consultant with the company, says they have already started sensitizing residents in the areas where the exploration is set to take place. He asked residents not to be misled into rushing to buy land, saying it may have or not have minerals.
