Police Register 29,000 child Neglect Cases in Three Years

Statistics compiled by Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU) show cases of child neglect are on rise day in day out. At least 29,564 children were abandoned by their parents between 2014 and 2016. A total of 10,454 children were neglected in 2014, the cases slightly decreased to 9,173 in 2015 but catapulted to 9,913 in 2016.
