EU Commits UGX 120 Billion to Uganda’s COVID-19 Response

A statement released this evening indicates that the European Union (EU) Delegation to Uganda is refocusing its existing cooperation and mobilizing additional funding for the country, with a joint priority to save lives, heal the sick, protect the vulnerable, and strengthen research, support health systems and economies.

EAC Extraordinary Summit on COVID-19 Postponed on South Sudan Request 1 Top story

All EAC Partner States have confirmed cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 with Kenya reporting 216 cases with 9 deaths; Rwanda 134; Uganda 55; Tanzania 53 with 3 deaths; Burundi 5 and one death and South Sudan 4 cases. Rwanda, South Sudan and Uganda have not reported any deaths as at April 15, 2020.

DRC Ebola Situation Still a Public Health Emergency of International Concern-WHO

This follows a meeting of the International Health Regulations Committee for Ebola in the DRC where it was decided that the situation should continue being treated as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern even if there's no evidence that any of the neighbouring countries are at risk of the disease spreading to their territories.
