Dr Deogratias Munube, a paediatrician at Mulago National Referral Hospital and also the president of the Uganda Pediatric Association says that while lactating mothers have no option, markets expose children to respiratory infections caused by the cold. According to Dr Munube, children might develop asthma or even pneumonia.

UPDF Rebuilds Key Infrastructures Ruined by Floods in Rwenzori Region Ecweru 2 2

The State Minister for Disaster Preparedness Musa Ecweru who was in Kasese to assess the damage said the ministry had requested m the 222 Mountain Infantry Brigade of the UPDF to come in and aid in re-establishing key infrastructures that were destroyed. In the short run, the force will be desilting and re-organize Kilembe Mines Hospital.

Pictorial: Distribution of Relief Items to Bussi Island Storm Victims

On Wednesday, government delivered relief items that were transport by boat from Nakiwogo to the affected people accompanied by the area woman MP, Rosemary Sseninde and other local leaders. The items included 2,000 kilograms of maize flour, 1,000 kilograms of beans, 1,000 iron sheets {1,000) and 390 mosquito nets.
