According to prosecution, in September 2016 at Kabahinda Police Post in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, the accused persons were privy to making false entries in the compensation agreement between eight refugees, OPM officials and Windle Trust Uganda.
The suspects who are in three pairs of women and men are believed to have sailed by boat from Kansensero and Nangoma Landing Sites of Kyotera district. The two landing sites were recently condoned off by authorities and declared quarantine zones after they presented increasing numbers of community COVID-19 transmission.
The order was issued this morning by Justice Lydia Mugambe, on the basis of a petition filed two years ago by lawyer Stephen Kalali. In his application, Kalali sought declarations and orders that Prisoners and Ugandans in the Diaspora, possess the fundamental and inalienable right to be registered as voters.
