At 80 years of Age, Monsgor Charles Kimbowa passed on at Nsambya hospital having served in different offices of the catholic church since the 1960s when he was ordained priest. He has risen to the level of Monsgnor a single step to becoming a bishop.
The long time serving clergy with the title of ecclesiastical dignity- Monsgnor Kimbowa was mourned by Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala and other members of the episcopal conference who praised him for having taught and mentored priests in the country.
James Tumusiime, an author and a strong enthusiast of Traditional African Values, attributes the trend to the gradual breakdown of social-cultural bonds that shaped the behaviours of the ancient society for their common good. He indicates that the African culture treated any form of self-killings, as an abomination that was strongly discouraged by the community.
