Yesterday a UN internal memo made rounds on social media where the UN undersecretary for safety and security Giles Michaud suspended travel to Uganda by UN agencies and Personnel. The memo that cited the recommendation of the UN Resident Coordinator, Rosa Malango didn’t give any reason why this decision had been arrived at.
Speaking to reporters shortly after meeting the Electoral Commission Chairperson in Kampala today, Kyagulanyti said rallies are the only means through which he can speak to his supporters because security have blocked him from accessing several media houses across the country on which he would have talked about his candidacy. He said this leaves him with no option but to hold mass rallies.

However, neither presidential candidate made a show at the Jinja road based Commission where they were expected on Monday.
