Assistant Superintendent of Police –ASP Charles Twine, who speaks for CID, confirmed the interrogation and ongoing investigation. CID said three more GTB officials are expected to appear before this week ends.
It is alleged that the suspects Dennis Kiberu, who was driving a Premio vehicle registration number UBD 184N from Lyantonde town to take them to Kasambya village to purportedly pick up a patient from a shrine. However, when they reached a secluded area, they told him to stop. They suddenly grabbed and tied him.
The suspects whose names have been concealed for fear of jeopardizing police investigations are accused of allegedly murdering Domian Byaruhanga, a resident of Kifumura village in Kyohairwe parish Buhanika sub county of Hoima district.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, security officials in the region are bothered by the increasing murder cases. He attributes the murders to land wrangles, domestic violence witchcraft, property disputes and alcohol abuse among others.
The arrest of the suspects brings to four, the number of people arrested in connection to the murder. The others are Richard Okello and Johnson Oryema who were arrested last week and remanded by the court on murder charges.
