Museveni revealed that through wealth creation programs, the government has in the last 7 years between 2013 and 2020 supported 900,000 families with farming materials. He says that this number is too low considering that Uganda has 9 million families.
Andrew Byakugata, the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister in an interview with Uganda Radio Network on Wednesday explains that Nabbanja’s appointment is a big achievement for Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom and the entire people of Bunyoro sub region adding that the King is appreciative.
Speaking to Uganda Radio Network, a close confidante of Kadaga who asked not to be named in order not to jeopardize their relationship said that the Kamuli woman MP said she disliked the position of Vice President because it's hollow. Kadaga in the past made similar statements while she campaigned for the position she eventually lost.
“And the NRM is very strict on that. Even when mistakes occur, we follow them up. Like for instance during these elections which Bishop Ssemogerere talked about, there were mistakes. The Opposition made mistakes by being violent, by intimidating, attacking people because they are putting on yellow,” said Museveni.
Emmanuel Ddombo, the Director of Information and Public Relations in NRM, says the expansion of the cabinet is meant to improve government efficiency. However, Mpuuga, who also doubles as the Nyendo-Mukungwe division Member of Parliament in Masaka city faults the NRM caucus for overlooking other urgent needs of the country such as improving the facilities managing COVID-19 patients as opposed to rubberstamping a proposal that lacks significance to Ugandans.
Geoffrey Omolo, the Katakwi District LC V Chairperson says the new appointments indicate more trust in the region. “I want to thank President Museveni for acknowledging the support Teso gave him in the last election. It shows confidence to the region and proof of our capabilities to serve the country”, he said.
