The Army Prosecutor Ambroz Guma told the court that he had instructions to leave the matter up to the court to make a decision.

Businessman Shukla Mukesh, commonly known as Shumuk is challenging Ssenyonyi's election on grounds that the electoral commission didn’t follow the law in declaring him the winner in the January elections. He alleges that area presiding officers connived with Ssenyonyi's agents to alter the Declaration Results forms to snatch his victory.

On Tuesday, the suspect's lawyer Hamza Ssekidde asked the prosecution led by State Attorney Rose Aoja to clean her hands and drop the charges against his clients, saying they didn’t commit the crime for which they are being held.

Tayebwa through his lawyer Geoffrey Kandeebe, on Monday, told the court presided over by Justice Moses Kazibwe Kawumi that Tumuramye was illegally nominated by the Electoral Commission. According to Kandeebe, the document he attached on the petition as the nomination paper had only signatures from nine registered voters instead of ten.

Ssekitoleko, a member of the National Unity Platform -NUP won the hotly contested race with 27,850 to defeat John Chrysostom Muyingo of the National Resistance Movement who polled 24,463 votes. But one Christopher Matabi, one of Muyingo's ardent supporters accused Ssekitoleko of bribery and falsification of declaration of results forms.

Magara alleges that the elections were marred by several irregularities among which was the introduction of a one Ssenabulya Alex Nathan to the ballot paper yet he was not nominated as a candidate in the Katikamu South Parliamentary Election. Magara further alleges that the Electoral Commission made glaring errors and false entries into the Declaration Forms which had a significant impact on the final results.

Sentamu said that she will appeal the decision of the court because she has evidence that she paid the court fees.

On August 26th, 2021, Mutabazi applied to the high court withdrawing the application, which was granted by the Kabale High Court Assistant Registrar, Julius Chaka Borore on Monday.
