Rt. Rev. Moses Banja was officially consecrated and enthroned as the sixth bishop of Namirembe Diocese, the oldest in the province of the Church of Uganda. This momentous occasion marked the transition from Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira, who reached the mandatory retirement age.
In his speech delivered by State Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives David Bahati, during the installation of Reverend Joseph Tumwebaze as the South Buganda regional Overseer of Pentecostal Churches, Museveni observed that the Church is equally under serious threat by the changing global dynamics that are causing a decline in moral standards.
