After Okidi's burial on January 7, Ocaka sought a cultural resolution through clan leaders, but Okidi’s relatives rejected this and reported the case to Agago Central Police Station on January 11. Police registered a case of murder by assault.

On the 9th of January 2025, a group of suspected Karamojong armed warriors attacked the herders at Pian-Upe Game Reserve and killed two juveniles before raiding 500 heads of cattle. The juveniles killed were identified as Lod aged 14 and Pulkol aged 16 years while Isaac Karimok, aged 18 was severely injured.
