John Mary Ssenkubuge, a parent with two senior five students says his restaurant and bar business collapsed during the lockdown resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, he says it is difficult for him to get money in the shortest time possible to pay for his children.

Rev Dr Paul Kakooza, the head of the Church of Uganda Directorate of Education notes that as they wait for the detailed school calendar, headteachers in all Church founded schools have been instructed to call back teachers for orientation. The Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owesigire says they have arrested the suspect from Kalangala district and they are yet to transfer her to the district where she committed the crime. He notes that the baby has been recovered in good condition.
The teenager is identified as Irene Nakibuuka, 16, a resident at Ssaza Mukono Municipality. According to family members, the deceased together with her younger siblings went to attend a Christmas festival that was organized at the gardens.
