KCCA Starts Boda Boda Registration boda boda 1

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has announced a registration exercise for all motorcycles in the city. Announcing the registration exercise at her office in Kampala today, KCCA Executive Director Jennifer Musisi said the exercise is part of a plan to enable the city Authority establish the number of boda-boda motorcycles operating in the city and help plan for the industry.

NFA Stuck With Kibaale Forest Encroachers forest encroachment

National Forestry Authority-NFA is considering extending the deadline for the eviction of forest reserve encroachers in Kibaale district to January next year after failing to push them out today. In May this year, NFA and Kibaale district officials set Monday August 26th as deadline for over 15000 encroachers on all 15 central forest reserve to vacate.

Ugandan Boda Boda Riders Flee Juba Over Harassment ugandan traders 1

Under their umbrella body South Sudan Motorcycle Bodaboda Association (SSMBA), the Ugandan cyclists have been riding in groups from Juba to Kampala, a distance that is more than 600 kilometres. Last week Aleu Ayeny Aleu, the South Sudan Interior minister, issued a directive banning foreigners from involvement in the boda boda business. Aleu claimed that the move was to curb increasing criminal acts committed by many foreigners hiding in the business.
