Speaking to URN on condition of anonymity, one of those who completed their quarantine after returning from Saudi Arabia on July 28, said that a number of those who had been issued with discharge certificates and declared COVID-19 free have been recalled.
Dr Edward Muwanga, the District Health Officer says that the district executive committee together with the health department resolved that Thursday will now be a special treatment day for elderly persons in government health facilities within the area.
The district has so far held 500 suspected COVID-19 cases in its quarantine centres, mostly originating from Kenya and contacts of positive cases. Health officials in the district say that the suspects sneak into the country through porous border entry points, which augments a need to protect communities from infections from the neighbouring country.
