Pastor Martin Okidi of the Gulu Bible Community Church in his sermon rallied the congregation to embrace the COVID-19 vaccination for a corona-free country and avoidance of more lockdowns and restrictions.
Pamela Kembabazi, the Rukiga District Senior Probation, and Welfare Officer says that 71 cases were recorded from July 2020 to July 2021. Kembabazi attributes the rising cases to the negligence of parents.
Angela Ilakut, the registrar of the Nurses and Midwives Council says home care nursing is a needed service. She says hospitals are understaffed and trained nurses are not equipped to provide the best care they can give to patients.
Statistics from the Acholi Sub Regional Leprosy coordinator, Jimmy Komakech show that 26 new cases of severe leprosy have been reported with five cases reported in Gulu district. Kitgum, Lamwo and Nwoya have four cases each.
