Dr. Kenneth Cana, the acting Gulu District Health Officer told Uganda Radio Network on Thursday that reactivation of the covid-19 taskforce is in readiness to combat the deadly disease in case it spills to the region.
The RDC said that the district has already tasked all Health Facilities in the district to put in place isolation centers where they can manage suspected patients before evacuating then to the main isolation center at Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital.
According to Dr. Batibwa, following the confirmation of the outbreak of Ebola, they started mobilizing a team to prepare for the treatment of Ebola patients and revive the isolation center.
Samuel Walulya Akalyamaggwa, a driver at the stage, says that they don't have any knowledge about the disease and have not taken any measures to protect themselves. He says they are yet to be sensitized by the authorities in Kampala on how to deal with the situation.

Dr. Collins Satya, the medical superintendent of Bukwo hospital confirmed that the situation is bad. He explained that police dumped the two bodies of two mob justice victims at the hospital after they were lynched for alleged cattle theft last week.
