James Onono Ojok, the University’s Assistant Public Relations Officer disclosed to URN that following closure of education institutions by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on May 7, public demand especially from the returning students overstretched the facility and exhausted the available resources.
This is to ensure that testing kits are not wasted on people with different ailments who do not meet the case definition of COVID-19. According to the World Health Organisation, most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and develop fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea.
