According to SOPs issued by the Ministry of Health, all places of worships are expected to accommodate not more than 200 adult persons at a time. They are also expected to enforce washing hands, wearing face masks, social distancing, record the contacts of the worshipers and measure their temperature.
Sunday schools were closed nationwide as a means to forestall the spread of COVID-19 in March 2020. While churches were opened for worship last year, President Yoweri Museveni did not open Sunday school for children on the premise that they were not safe.
“The way of the cross ends not in death, but in the resurrection. Even in our shock and grief today over Archbishop Lwanga’s untimely death, we recognize that he continued his personal way of the cross last night until the fullness of resurrection which awaits all of us who put our trust and faith in Jesus Christ,” said Kaziimba.
