Now, in her November 4th letter to the Makerere University, Education Minister, Janet Museveni, says despite the closure of the university, critical and emergency units should remain operational.
Now, the first lady and Education and Sports Minister, Janet Kataha Museveni has written to Makerere University Council Chairman, Eng. Dr. Charles Wanna Etyem confirming the resolution and banned staff from making any travels on behalf of the university.
Under the new policy, every student who fails a paper is required to pay 50,000 shillings for each paper retaken and once a student fails two papers, he/she automatically gets a dead year. In this case such a student is required to stay put in their current year of study.
