A report by the town clerk James Andrew Ocen on the conditions and inventory of roads and bridges in the municipality as of 11th September 2019 indicates that out of the 92 roads in Kapchorwa municipality only 9 roads are in a good condition.
The suspects, identified as Isaac Akobo and Isaac Soyeko, were arrested in an operation mounted by officials from Natural Resource Conservation Network NRCN, Uganda Wildlife Authority UWA and police in Sebei sub region.

They are a minority community that comprises a cluster of Sabiny who have lived in and around Mt Elgon forest for more than two centuries, initially as hunters and gatherers but later on as sedentary pastoralists and small-scale farmers without land tenure rights.
