Abbas Luninze, the Speaker Buruuli County council has asked the Central government to restrain Buruuli Chiefdom loyalists from acts of provocation, saying it may lead to violence.
Gerald Kyanjo the Buganda representative in Buruuli County Kimbugwe told URN that neighbours saw the fire flames coming from the palace and mobilized to put it off by use of water.
Fire has gutted the palace of the Kabaka of Buganda in Nakasongola district. The fire broke out at around 9pm on Thursday night and destroyed parts of the palace.
Three months later, Buganda kingdom chiefs led by Gerald Kyanjo, Buganda Kingdoms representative in Buruuli County says that the demolition is unnecessary. Kyanjo says that the palace was built on land owned by Buganda Kingdom and no official can compel them to remove it.
