Uganda Law Society President Simon Peter Kinobe contends that the current restrictions put in place by the government made it impossible for the lawyers to conduct their Annual General Meeting, through which they also elect new leaders.
According to the interdiction letter signed by the Acting Chief Registrar Tom Chemutai, Nizeyimana was interdicted for producing poor standard work and conducting himself in a manner prejudicial to the image, dignity and the reputation of service contrary to the Judicial Service Regulations.
The petitioners contend that there is no law providing for the operationalisation of the said cities, which might affect municipal mayors, councilors, Division chairpersons and their respective councilors, town council / sub county chairpersons as well as their respective councilors.
