In his opening remarks at The Hague—Netherlands—based International Court of Justice (ICJ), Uganda Attorney General William Byaruhanga today argued that Congo has simply been demanding too much in war reparations and looting of its minerals by Uganda soldiers during the 1997 to 2003 war.
According to Musiime, the allegations of malpractices, illegalities against her and the Commission as well as cases of bribery are misconceived because there is no such an issue that was purportedly reported to her.
On Thursday, Justice Luswata however, argued that, since election petitions are matters of public interest, it was prudent to follow the right rules and procedures involved in serving such petitions, to avoid cases of prejudice. Luswata further directed the petitioner to serve the respondents’ lawyers with certified copies of the petition in two days.
