The suspects who were arrested on Thursday by a team of detectives from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and the Police. They appeared in Court on Friday afternoon before Nabweru Grade one court Magistrate Awechadi Freedi.
Philip Nkwarsibwe, a medical officer attached to Gulu Government Main Prison told police that the deceased was battling heart disease and Tuberculosis –TB and that he was previously admitted to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital on June 26th before being discharged on July 3rd.
Lt. Col. Nelson Ayebare, Pt. Emmanuel Ogete, Corporal Basaja Balaba Fred, Morris Oruk, Jimmy Okello and Boniface Ogwangwere were remanded on various counts.
